Our annual beer and wine fundraiser is currently in process.  Get your $10.00 tickets to sell from Bob Gullick.  Raffle drawing will be November 13 at the Copperfield Restaurant in Mendota Heights.  Grand prize for wine is 25 bottles and second is 5 bottles.  Grand prize for beer is a wall of beer (approx 25 six packs) and second is 5 six packs.  Please bring some beer and wine to the meetings before November 13th.  Thanks for coordinating this Bob!

Dr. Al Johnson was our speaker last Wednesday, principal of Two Rivers (TR) High School.  Wow, ISD 197 is in really good hands.  Dr. Al spoke to the 4-way test  Here are some of goals Al wants to achieve:  TR is all inclusive; kids should be seen and know they belong;  create a meaningful relationships;  and graduates should be productive and make a contribution to society!  The biggest goal from Dr. Al is to make TR the BEST HIGH SCHOOL IN THE COUNTRY!  Here's a fun fact, the current seniors are the first of the COVID graduates.  Dr. Al wants teachers to be more like mom and dad and give the teachers the support they need.  Dr. Al loves our children!  AP offerings are increasing!  Free breakfast and lunches are available for those students who want them.  There's future work based learning in:  auto mechanics; welding; photography;  woodworking;  transportation; and more!  TR is already one of the best high schools in the state!  Dr. Al's presentation lasted about 12 minutes.  Questions filled the remaining time.  Thanks Dr. Al for the encouraging and uplifting presentation!  Pictured below with Dr. Al Johnson are Rotarians Peter Olson-Skov (left) and Ben Kusch (right).

Our district 5960 has a STRIKE OUT POLIO campaign going for the month of October.  Here's the plan:

 

1 - Donations to the Foundation for the rose sale going well.

4 - Jennifer Giovinazzo, David Miller and Dave Hanson were thanked for the video commercial at Town Square TV on September 17.

4 - Next Loaves & Fishes is December 5th.  We are not doing on October 29 because the roses are being delivered that day to St. Anne's.

5-  Road clean up will be Saturday Oct .  After the clean up, we'll be raking a DARTS recommended  senior's yard.

6 - Club Service above self award will be presented in the future.

7 - Don McCall will host Oct meetings as Prez Val is in Florida for the winter.

8 - Fundraising:  Beer & Wine drawing will be Nov 13 at the Copperfield.  Rose order day was Oct 14.  Delivery on Oct 29^th.

9 - We are getting good exposure on Facebook.  Thanks Jennifer.!

10- Trying for three families for Neighbor's Inc. Holiday Gift Program.

11 - Christmas and New Years fall on a Wednesday.  Cancelling those meetings.

12 - Cancelling Oct 30^th meeting because of rose delivery on Oct 29^th

13 - Next board meeting is via zoom on Nov 19 at 7:30a.m. Notify Dave Hanson if you'd like to attend.

The board would like to have local businesses present a 3 minute introduction to their company at each meeting.

Please let Dave Hanson know if you have someone and he'll add them to the meeting schedule.

One 3 minute presentation at each meeting would be the goal.
