Eden Bart - (Humanities Officer) and Anne Meyers - (Development Director) with the Minnesota Humanities Center (based in Saint Paul) stopped by to talk. MNHUM is a statewide nonprofit organization that advances understanding, civic engagement, and community connection through the humanities.
Their Mission: Promote civic life and strengthen communities by supporting storytelling, historical inquiry, civic conversation, and public programming that explore culture, identity, and current issues.
Their Activities: award grants to nonprofits and schools; develop classroom resources and professional development for educators; host public programs, dialogues, and exhibits; curate community-based research and storytelling projects.
Their Audiences: serves K–12 educators and students, community organizations, cultural institutions, and the general public across Minnesota—emphasizing inclusion of historically marginalized voices.
Their Impact: supports local civic engagement, strengthens humanities education, and helps communities use history and storytelling to address contemporary challenges.
Rotarian Mark Landy's Coulee Bank is supporting Neighbor's Inc during the March Food Share month. They are collecting food for donation. If you can donate, scan the QR code which takes you to the Neighbor's Inc donation page. The first $70,000 donated this month is being matched by three generous families. We meet at 7:30 Wednesday mornings at Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church located at 2035 Charlton Road, Sunfish Lake, MN 55118. Join us for a continental breakfast with good coffee followed by an engaging program. On even number months, we meet at 7:30a at the Copperfield restaurant in Mendota Heights.
