Board meeting LAST week
We had a Board meeting last week and here's what we did:
  • Approved a donation request of $500 for the WSP Garlough Collaborative
  • Learned that we rescheduled Tree Planting - WE WILL NOT BE PLANTING TREES IN THE MUD AND SNOW THIS WEEK (moved to May 15 - see Calendar for details)
  • We approved a new policy on not having politicians speak at the club from July - Nov. in an election year
  • Reminded everyone that its time for nominations for the Literacy Award (see Literacy Award story)
Tree Planting Event
We planted trees on Tuesday, May 15 at the Dodge Nature Center !  Thanks to everyone who got dirty, sweaty, sore and tired! See the photo album for all the pictures from the event.
District Conference
LAST CALL!  The District Conference "Conference of Clubs 2018" is at Mystic Lake April 19-20.  The event will kick off on Thursday night and then have all-day programs and speakers on Friday. It's a great way to connect to other Rotary Clubs, hear really motivating speakers and find new ideas on attracting new members, fundraising events and more!  The Club will pay your registration fee so there's really no reason not to go (just let Pres. Dave know you're interested so he can tell Bob so Bob can write the check - otherwise Bob gets miffed, especially during tax season. He's a bit testy)!  Go to the District Website www.rotary5960.org and click on the Events tab for more information.
13th Annual Community Forum
LAST CALL!  The St. Paul Sunrise Rotary Club, in cooperation with the Minneapolis City of Lakes and Woodbury Clubs, is sponsoring the 13th Annual Community Forum "Beyond the Political Polarization: Finding Common Ground for the Common Good" THIS Thursday, April 12 from 7:15-9:15 a.m. at the Town and Country Club in St. Paul.  These community forum programs have been fantastic and are highly recommended by Alan from our Club.
