We are going to do the White Elephant Gift Exchange a LOT differently this year!! What is the White Elephant gift exchange you ask? In "normal" world, we all bring a WRAPPED GIFT that is usually-gag-ugly-funny-just-don't-want-anymore gift OR it could be a I'm-going-to-surprise-everyone-and-actually-wrap-something-nice (like a bottle of wine) gift. Then we take turns picking a gift and opening it. When it's your turn, you can either steal someone else's already opened gift OR go pick an unwrapped one and see what you get. The game goes until all presents have been opened and everyone has in their possession a new "gift" that will either be re-wrapped for next year or given to some unsuspecting relative at Christmas. BUT IN VIRTUAL WORLD, we are going to try this: - Before FRIDAY, DEC. 11, drop off your wrapped present at the law office of LeVander, Gillen & Miller (4th floor of the Bremer Bank building in South St. Paul - 633 S. Concord Street, Suite 400) M-F between the hours of 8:30-5:00. Yes, that's where Kori and Bridget work and it is open to the public, although there is a very skeleton staff at the office right now. We will have space dedicated for the presents.
- On Monday or Tuesday, Dec. 14 or 15 return to the law office and pick up a beautifully wrapped gift BUT DON'T OPEN IT!
- On Dec. 16, at our regular Zoom meeting, we will take turns opening our gifts!
There will be no trading... so that's it then. You're stuck with your fabulous gift, until next year. (insert laughter here) Here are a couple pictures from prior years with normal gift exchanges: You get the idea? Don't spend a lot of time or money on these gifts, just have fun with it! (I am a notorious re-gifter of those oh-you-shouldn't-have presents from some less-than-favorite relatives) |
