Board meeting RECAP from last week
There was a Board meeting last week and here's what we did:
  • Adopted President Bridget's goals:
    • The Club will give $1,000 to Polio Plus out of its Club Funds
    • The Club will give $500 to Fast for Hope out of its Club Funds
    • We will net 2 new members
    • Our Club members will collectively give $400 to Rotary International Foundation (we hope - it's a goal, not a requirement)
  • Talked about how to continue the discussion of starting a Strive Program at Henry Sibley.  We need to find a committed group of 5 Rotarian/Rotarian-type volunteers who are willing to be mentors to 1-3 high school seniors 1/month (all at the same coordinated time). The search will be spearheaded by Ben Kusch, with strong background cheerleading from Greg Stone.  Contact either of them if you having an inkling of an interest.
  • Agreed to donate Club Funds to the following causes:
    • $500 to WBL Rotary for a Nigerian Clean Water District Grant Project
    • $1,000 to Stillwater Rotary for a Security Fence around a school in Kenya District Grant Project
    • $500 to Stillwater Sunrise Rotary for programming at a Women's Center in Guatemala District Grant Project
    • $200 to be a Gold Sponsor at the South Metro Fire Department vs. West St. Paul Police Department charity hockey game the proceeds of which will benefit 360 Communities
Whew. It was a long meeting.
