“Long before sunrise on Wednesday September 24th, Don journeyed to the Prior Lake Rotary Club to collect a check for our club’s volunteer efforts at the Prior Lake Music Festival held this past July. It was a great meeting hearing from 35 different volunteer groups as they sharing how they will use their portion of the funds. Thanks to those who volunteered from our club, our club received $1,044. The event distributed a total of $116,861 distributed to the various volunteer organization! Next summer’s music festival will take place on July 10thand 11thand hopefully our club can join the 2,000 volunteers needed next summer.”
Glenn has held several district roles, including Assistant Governor, Assistant Governor Lead, District Trainer, Club Visioning Facilitator, and the lead of several District committees (GSE, Peace Scholar, Grants, Group Cultural Exchange). His wife, Pam, joined Rotary in 2002, serving as the charter president of the Rotary Club of Jonesboro-Metro (D6150). Presently, she is a member of the White Bear Lake Rotary Club. They have attended 11 international conventions and are Major Donors and members of the Legacy Society. He enjoys travel, wine, cooking, birdwatching, and hiking.
Glenn is really focused on bringing back the core values of Rotary, increasing membership, (which is currently down 30% since 2018) and finishing the job with Polio Plus.
“Our clubs are quite varied in many factors, including club size, member growth, project types, use of grant funds, and partnerships. All clubs are having a positive impact on the lives of people in their communities. I look forward to visiting the other 35 clubs over the next few months. In the Rotary calendar, September is Basic Education and Literacy Month. Having a good ability to read is required to be successful in today’s world. Without a good education, most doors are closed.”

We meet at 7:30 Wednesday mornings at Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church located at 2035 Charlton Road, Sunfish Lake, MN 55118. Join us for a continental breakfast with good coffee followed by an engaging program. On even number months, we meet at 7:30a at the Copperfield restaurant in Mendota Heights.
