There was a fun gathering at Copperfield restaurant for our meeting last week.

Good food, good service and good company.

David Miller passed the leadership of our club to Don McCall.

David was thanked with thunderous applause for his year as president.

Don was welcomed as our president for 2022-2023 by unanimous vote and more enthusiastic clapping!

We also elected Don's board:  Past President - David Miller; Treasurer - Bob Gullick; Secretary - Dave Hanson; Community Service - Alan Ruvelson & Mark Landy; members-at-large - Susan Hommes & Valarie Namen.

 

Don mentioned to David that he now has the best job in the club.  Just attend board meetings and say to the president, "that's one way to do it, but I wouldn't do it that way"!  :)

From July 9th:  "It was really a fun time - went quickly, very busy.  I feel like an expert on the purchasing system - very easy to use.  It was one after the other the entire night - lots of $$$$!  At 8 a ticket, it adds up quickly.  There were 10s of thousands of people there from my estimation - like the state fair in a microcosm.  We should definitely stay involved and get more folks to volunteer next year - easy money, and you get to enjoy the music while working, and all of the people were having a great time.  It restored some of my faith in humanity."

From Charlie Thompson, president of the SSP/IGH Rotary Club on June 22, 2022:  Our club has made the difficult decision to resign from Rotary. I submitted the resignation form earlier today.  We believe this is a more effective way to move forward with members being able to make their own decisions regarding their status as Rotarians.  Those wishing to continue will be encouraged to reach out to you and join your club.

Here's some of the stuff we did:

1 - Donated $500.00 to Colleen's Kiwanis Kid project

2 - Our club will be participating in the Prior Lake Rotary's Lakefront Music Fest - July 8th & 9th as a fundraiser for our club.

3 - Sending $500.00 to Northern Dakota County Yellow Ribbon effort.

4 - Discussed results of SSP/IGH survey.

5 - Next Loaves & Fishes:  August 4 and August 30th.

6 - Don McCall will share his 2022-2023 board members as his year begins on July 1, 2022.

7 - David Miller is following up with Peter on Ethics Day for next year.

8 - Exploring the possibility of Moonstruck fundraiser in October.
