Our speakers last week were Somerset Elementary Principal Libby Huettl & Parent Anne St. Martin.  The topic was a fully accessible and inclusive playground at Somerset Elementary in Mendota Heights.  The name of the campaign to raise $325K is called Play For All.  This will be 1 of only 5 all inclusive school playgrounds in Minnesota.  Thanks to a $200,000 anonymous donation, there is only $81,315 left to collect for the playground.  Because of this generous contribution, construction will happen this summer instead of 2025.  Some of the existing structures will be used and the rest will taken apart and donated to Africa or Central America.  Northern Rec is the contractor.  The Somerset students  chose the current design.  The new playground can be used for all students!  Community kids can use the playground after school and during the summer.
