Happy New Year
Welcome back Rotarians!  The wrapping paper has been thrown away, the thank you cards are being written, the relatives are back home safely in their OWN beds, and now it's time for us to get back to work!  We are half-way through our Rotary year so it's time to start thinking about 2016 and what we have ahead of us...
  1. Soon-to-be-President Johanna will be selecting her Board members in the very near future.  If you are interested in serving in the areas of: Community Service, Membership, Club Service, Vocational, International, Foundation, Youth Service, or if you are interested in being President-Elect, then contact Johanna!  If you are not interested in any of these positions, avoid eye contact.
  2. Moonstruck Chair wanted!  If you are feeling the inkling to get more involved in our Club in a meaningful way and have a knack for details, then Moonstruck is perfect for you!  We have a great Club that provides awesome support, so it is definitely not a one-person operation.  As Chair, you may designate half of the proceeds to the charity of your choice!  That's a huge opportunity for you to make a different in an organization about which you feel strongly. Interested parties should submit a letter to President Scott indicating their interest and naming their charity.
  3. Rotary Rose Fundraiser is on the horizon!  If you would like to chair this super-easy and quick fundraiser, contact Scott.  He has done an awesome job the last few years but would gladly mentor anyone interested in taking the reins.
  4. February will mark the 26th anniversary of our Club.  Our Club Service committee is already working on a fun Club event to celebrate this occasion.  Be watching the Bulletin for details in the next few weeks.
Bring in your old eyeglasses
Recently, we approved a $1,500 donation to VOSH, an organization that provides free optometry services in Mexico, Nepal and Paraguay.  Starting this week, we will be collecting your old, used, unnecessary, outdated and taking-up-space-in-the-drawer eyeglasses for VOSH to take on upcoming mission trips so use your new glasses to find your old glasses and bring them to our meetings. VOSH can test your old glasses to find out the exact prescription and regardless of the style or shape they are in, they will match them up with the perfect recipient in one of these countries.  How great is that?!  They are speaking at our Club on January 20 and we can give them the donations at the meeting.
