Board meeting
We had a Board meeting last week and here's what we did:

  • Amended our donation guidelines so that we only consider one request per year from any particular organization.
  • Accepted the resignation of one of our founding members Dave Dinger.  We will miss him!
  • Approved a donation request to One Voice Mixed Chorus to assist with transportation needs.
  • Agreed not to have a meeting on July 4 - NO MEETING JULY 4TH!!!
  • Thanked Pres. Dave for his fabulous year as our Club President

Moonstruck!
It's time to start getting your teams, sponsors and silent auction donations for our Moonstruck golf tournament.  Moonstruck is on Friday, Sept. 7.  Rachel Hughes is the Chair and is off and running with a couple of teams and sponsors already.  Dodge Nature Center will be the recipient of a portion of the proceeds, thanks to Rachel's efforts.  Bob has the beer and wine raffle tickets available now so be sure to catch him on Wed.! Remember that this is our biggest fundraiser of the year so this is how we fund the "having fun while making a difference" motto.  The entry form is Here.   If you have any questions, contact Rachel. Her contact info is on the website under Active Member List.
Speaker Assignments 2018-19
Our secret committee has completed the Speaker Assignments for 2018-19! Click Here for the new Speaker Assignment list!  If you have a conflict with your month because you will be on an African Safari, out on sabbatical, or snow-birding in FL, please let me know and we'll switch it around.  Remember the protocol:
  1. Work with your entire team assigned for the month so you don't double-up on speakers for the same day. If you have trouble finding a speaker, we have a Potential Speaker List (click on the link) with names and contact information of people who have either spoken at other Clubs or who have expressed an interest in speaking at our Club. The Speaker should be someone who can provide information that would be beneficial to all concerned (that sounds familiar...).
  2. When you find a speaker, please let me (Bulletin Editor-person) know the following:
    • Date Speaker will be speaking
    • Name of Speaker
    • Topic and
    • Whether or not Speaker needs a laptop for a presentation (Southview always provides the screen and projector)
  3. Provide your Speaker with directions, time of the meeting, and instructions to plan for a 25-min. presentation
  4. At the meeting, if you found the speaker you are responsible for the prayer.  So, either plan to pray or find a pray-or that morning.  Some don't like to pray in public and that's totally fine!  Others don't mind praying so feel free to ask someone or ask the President to ask someone to pray.
That's it!  Go out and find good, interesting, entertaining speakers! And remember that we don't have a budget for this so other than a free breakfast, they might get a tree or a book donated in their honor or just a handshake as a thank-you.
