This Week's Speaker: Bonnie Holub will be demystifying social media and politics. (In case you haven't noticed, there is a political theme for May's speakers.)
Root Beer Floats This Wednesday: On Wednesday, May 14, we will be serving our famous free root beer floats at the City of West St. Paul's annual Open House from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. (be there at 4:30 to set up) You won't want to miss this great community outreach activity. Click here to see the details. It's really a fun event, so come for all or part of it and mingle, serve up a root beer float or two, grab some free food and check out all of the City's departments and staff. There is a bounce house, fire department demonstrations and did I mention the free food?

Thanks to everyone who brought potential new members to our Open House meeting. The efforts are paying off! We approved the membership application of Edie Deering from the Girl Scouts at the last Board meeting and now Marv Karth from Realty Executive has decided to join our Rotary family too. Many of you are still working on your recruiting and it looks like there are one or two more applications on their way. Good work! I thought one new potential new member summed up our Club well when she said, "Wow! You can tell you really care about each other!" Yes, that we do.
Thanks to those who helped with our Highway Clean Up project. We adopted a portion of Delaware Avenue and it can get really messy over the winter. It was a small but productive crew, armed with gloves and tongs, who helped make our corner of the world a little cleaner. Thanks to Patt Erickson and husband Fred, Dave Dinger, Dave Hanson, Don McCall, and Bud Shaver and his wife Terri, for their efforts.
