Board Meeting Recap
There was a Board Meeting last week, and here's what we did:
  • We are going to have a Virtual Cocktail Party on Zoom on Wed. Oct. 28 at 6:30 p.m. to sit around the computer, chat and find out how everyone's doing.  We don't get to do that anymore...  William will send out a Zoom link.
  • Resignations: Accepted the resignations of Jackie Paul and Ed Malloy. crying
  • Adopt a Family: We agreed to allocate $1,500 ($100/person) to the Adopt a Family Christmas, so we will get 4-5 families, depending on the size of the families.  We have shoppers so David Miller will get the family lists to the shoppers, who will then shop and we will wrap the presents at Southview on Dec. 2.  We will have plenty of space in the giant ballroom and masks are mandatory in indoor spaces, so feel free to come and join the gift-wrapping party.
  • December meetings - We are going to meet on Dec. 2 (gift wrapping in person see above), Dec. 9 (on Zoom with a speaker) and Dec. 16 for the White Elephant Party (in person).  We'll take the rest of the month off to enjoy Christmas and New Year's.
  • We are going to do a Harvest Pack event on a date TBD.  Details coming soon!
  • We agreed to donate $500 to the Woodbury Rotary Club for their District Grant to provide a support worker in School District 833 (we do that so that when WE ask for money, they feel guilty)
The District Governor Visited our Club
The District Governor Ed Marek joined us last week as our Speaker.  That's him in the yellow box.
(I turned off my video so you didn't have to see me taking a picture of my computer because that looks really lame; Bridget turns off her video so you don't see her kids running around in the morning and Murph experienced operator-error and couldn't figure out how to turn on his video)
Corrections on Calendar
I realize that the Calendar shows a Loaves & Fishes event on Nov. 5.  IGNORE IT! I must have put it on the calendar by mistake but I cannot for the life of me find it anywhere to delete it and it won't leave.  So, please note:  We do not  have a Loaves & Fishes event on Nov. 5.  You can go to Loaves & Fishes on Nov. 5 if you want to, but you'll have to make new friends.  That's ok, though, because apparently you can go twice on Dec. 3 ... frown Stupid new fancy website... OH, and while we're at it, we are not having a Board meeting in Dec. (even though it says we are).  Deleting stuff off the calendar is not as easy as it sounds. (I give up)
