The Board decided that we will start meeting LIVE (I realize Zoom is live too, but this is more live) and in person at Southview starting on Wed. May 12!! We are going to meet every other week for May, June and July so on the Speaker list you will see that it now states whether the meeting is at Southview or only on Zoom. The really good news - is that for awhile at least, we are going to try the hybrid approach. The District gave grants for clubs to purchase the technology to do Zoom meetings as part of the LIVE meetings. So, if you can't be at Southview because you're in the Florida or Arizona or the South of France (hypothetically), then you can still attend via Zoom! How great! Because of the real economics of meeting at Southview (room fee/minimum meal fee) we have to charge all Club members $30/month for these three months because otherwise the Club donations will be subsidizing our meeting and that doesn't seem right. Even if you don't eat, can't be there, whatever, it's an extra $30/month for everyone. We will re-evaluate after July to see if that covers costs, how everyone feels about it, etc. Given the amount everyone saved on Rotary dues during the past 12 months, that seems like a small cost. It will be so great to see everyone in person and invite guests! Time to kick open the doors and invite your friends! |
