Highway clean up canceled!
No need to clean up Delaware Ave this fall.  The street was just resurfaced and looks pretty clean.  We'll get it in the spring!  We still might be doing a yard clean up!
Last Week's Speaker
All I can say about last week's speaker was WOW!  Thank you Rachel Loomis for your super presentation on the Mississippi River Institute (MRI)! A group of us went down to the river to pray (just had to say that!).  We were actually on a barge at Harriet Island.  Past Prez Val kicked us off and Rachel followed with a very informative talk!  MRI is the learning part of a larger effort called Living Lands and Waters.  Their mission is "To aid in the protection, preservation, and restoration of the natural environment of the nation's major rivers and their watersheds." Bottom line is they clean up the pollution and educate students and the public.  Check out these links Rachel sent us!  Especially the 10 Million Pounds video:

Wine & Beer Fundraiser happening now!
Wine & Beer raffle fundraiser going on now!  Raffle tickets are available from Bob Gullick at meetings now through mid November.  The tickets are $10 each.  Beer raffle winner gets a Wall of Beer.  There are two winners for the wine raffle.  Please bring wine and six packs of beer to any upcoming meeting. The drawing will be on our November 19th meeting at the Copperfield restaurant.

Fundraising Committee needs ideas!
Rotarian Jon is heading up our club's Fundraising Committee.  Please let him know if you have any fundraising ideas and/or would like to join his committee!
Something new to meetings
The board would like to have local businesses present a 3 minute introduction to their company at each meeting.
Please let Dave Hanson know if you have someone and he'll add them to the meeting schedule.
One 3 minute presentation at each meeting would be the goal.

We meet at 7:30 Wednesday mornings at Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church located at 2035 Charlton Road, Sunfish Lake, MN 55118. Join us for a continental breakfast with good coffee followed by an engaging program.  On even number months, we meet at 7:30a at the Copperfield restaurant in Mendota Heights.  (e.g. first Wed in Aug)
