July 1, 2021 marks the new Rotary Year. Incoming President David Miller thanked Past President William McNally at this ceremony on July 14, thanking him for leading us through a very challenging year.
Moonstruck is approaching on Sept. 17 and we need to start gathering our goodies! Here's what we need:
Golfers - get Teams for Moonlight golf. We can accommodate up to 26 teams.
Sponsors - we have several levels of sponsorship from Holes to Platinum (see below)
Beer/Wine - bring in a 6/pack of craft beer and your fancy bottle of wine to a meeting (Bob and Marv are collecting the booze) If you can't bring in beer and wine, give money to Bob and he'll buy it for you.
Silent Auction items - we need stuff to sell at the Silent Auction so solicit your donations and bring them to a meeting (William is collecting)
Dinner guests - we need people at the event to buy stuff
Raffle Tickets - we need everyone to sell 20 raffle tickets for the Beer Raffle and Wine Raffle (2 separate raffles for twice the fun!) Winner of the Beer raffle wins 40 six-packs of craft beer and 1st Place Wine wins 30 bottles of wine + a wine chiller fridge and 2nd Place Wine wins 10 bottles of wine. Bob has the raffle tickets and will bring them to the meetings for you to pick up.
Trinkets - if you have left-over marketing items, we are collecting them for the golfer-goodie bags. Give them to Dave H.

We are IN PERSON at Southview this week and our speaker is going to talk about Youthprise. Youthprise was founded in 2010 by the McKnight Foundation with the original mission to promote learning beyond the classroom. With funding provided by other philanthropies, Youthprise contributes to programs and systems that are responsive to the needs of youth, identified with input from young people. Since its beginning, Youthprise has granted more than $30 million for youth education initiatives, provided training and technical support to more than 100 youth organizations and successfully lobbied for over $3.1 million in state appropriations to advance learning “beyond the classroom.” Youthprise champions youth board membership following the injunction of the McKnight Foundation that the organization be guided by youth. In 2017, Youthprise established its own youth-adult co-chair model, as well as increased the proportion of youth between the ages of 17 and 25 on its board, committees and leadership to fifty percent. Marcus Pope, our speaker, is Youthprise’s Vice President overseeing grantmaking, development, advocacy, communications and implementing special projects.

With the current quarterly dues, we have been able to manage Southview's overhead, so we are going to continue with $250/quarter for now. If we get more members, we will be able to reduce this amount. Thanks for hanging in there!
