What's coming up and other important information you might care about (or might not)...
We had a Board meeting this week and here's what we did:
Approved an increase in charging the pass-through cost of meals from $10 to $13, beginning July 1
Southview increased our meal costs to $13/person last fall. We continued to only charge members $11/meal. We decided that the Club will pay the difference in the meal costs between January and June from the Happy Bucks so as not to diminish the Club's funds that we use for donations.
Approved a new plan to get food directly from Loaves & Fishes. Instead of buying it each time we serve, L & F will provide the food and we will make a $300 donation. In the end, it will be cheaper and easier than buying the food ourselves.
Patt & Rayna discussed the options for Charter Night. They are looking at combining a community service activity with a dinner/social time and partnering with the SSP Club to make it a really exciting occasion. William McNally of Harvest Pack offered to bring his mobile meal packing unit to Southview. We would pack meals for an hour and then enjoy a nice dinner, maybe even with a jazz band as entertainment. Details are still being ironed out, but it should be great. For those of you who are not familiar with Charter Night, it is our annual event to celebrate the anniversary of when our Club was chartered as an official Rotary Club.
We are serving at Loaves & Fishes at St. Matt's THIS Thursday, Feb. 5. Click here for details. Be there at 3:00 to help cook or 4:30 to serve. It is all wrapped up by 6:30! Fun, rewarding and fulfilling a need all at the same time!
