Inclusive Playground Work Project - this week!
ALL HANDS ON DECK! We have the opportunity to help build a playground - Thursday, July 27 from 1-4 p.m.!!  The Inclusive Playground in Cottage Grove at Woodridge Park is our matching District grant project and we are obligated to, required to, have to help build the playground and provide photographic evidence to the District!!  All the details can be found in the Events Calendar so please make room in your busy schedule to set aside 1, 2, 3 or 4 hours on Thursday afternoon to build a playground!  So far, I have 2 helpers.  Wear your Rotary shirt if you have it, otherwise, the only requirement is that you wear closed-toe shoes. The City will provide everything else including snacks! Here are a couple of pictures that might help jog your memory about what we promised to do:

Moonstruck 2017!
Moonstruck! - our biggest fundraiser of the year - will be held on Friday, Sept. 8.  The Moonstruck forms can be found on the website and using the links on the side of the Bulletin. What do you need to do?
  • Get Teams - we can take 26 teams
  • Get Sponsors - we have all levels of sponsorships available and that's free money folks!  We make sure there is good recognition of the sponsors at the Event both on hole signs, on banners, and on a slideshow
  • Get silent and live auction items and give them to Bridget. Pres. Dave Hanson will be conducting the live auction this year - so that will be quite a treat!
  • Invite guests for dinner (I call them "shoppers")
  • Sell Wine Raffle Tickets and Bring in a bottle of (nicer) wine (or pay Bob $15) - we need 40 bottles (1st prize is 30 bottles + wine chiller and 2nd prize is 10 bottles)
  • Sell Beer Raffle Tickets and Bring in a 6-pack or two of craft beer (or pay Bob $15) - we need about 40 6-packs
Raffle tickets for beer and wine will be available at next week's meeting.  We expect all Rotarians to participate, attend and sell at least $500 worth of sponsors, teams, raffle tickets.  We need everyone's help to make this successful! If you have any questions, contact Co-Chairs William or Katie or me or Colleen or Marv or Susan or anyone else who has chaired this event in the past.  We all know the ropes and look forward to helping you help all of us make this Event awesome!
Board Meeting Last Week
We had a Board meeting last week and this is what we did:  Discussed a bunch of financial information, talked about Moonstruck and how awesome it's going to be, accepted the membership application (prospectively) of New ISD 197 Superintendent Peter Olson-Skog, who we will all meet on Aug. 9 when he is the speaker, and talked about potential future projects that can receive visible recognition like a sign at a local park that states: "Park Pavilion donated by the Rotary Club" or a "Welcome to WSP" entrance sign with our Rotary wheel on it.  We'll work on that!
Ski Otters Water Ski Show
All Club Social Event on Sunday, August 6 to go watch our very own Jackie Paul in the Ski Otters Water Ski Show on White Bear Lake at 6 p.m..  Mark your calendars now!  We can enjoy dinner at a local dive (I mean restaurant) and watch Jackie amaze us with her hidden dare-devil talents! It's totally a bring-the-family event! See the Events calendar for the details.  Here's Jackie when she's NOT water skiing:
