Our club has voted Don McCall & David Miller in as co-presidents this year.  Val Namen is attending to her dad in Florida and is unable to continue as president this year.  Prayers for Val and her family.  And thank you Don & David for filling in.

Kae Jae is the director of ROCC, Residents of Color Collective, currently based in West St. Paul.  ROCC's mission is to help empower under served communities of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC). ROCC helps create a highway of resources by building community through partnerships with organizations like Dodge Nature Center, Dakota County Library, 360 Communities, Dakota Child and Family Clinic.  ROCC coordinated a 2020 UNITY MARCH in West St. Paul & South St. Paul; distributed over 800 back packs with supplies; distributed over 300 coats in partnership with Amore Coffee; and helped deliver over 350,00 meals with multiple community partners.  They also have a youth program called ROCC Climbers which is helping with development of BIPOC youth in two ISD 197 schools.  Thank you for a very interesting program Kae Jae.  For more information on ROCC and to donate, check out ROCCMN.Org.

Here are some notes from our Sept board meeting:

1 - Bob  Gullick mentioned we have a balance budget.  Future donations would come from our reserves.

2 - Loaves & Fishes are October 5th and the 31st. 

3 - Highway clean up is scheduled for October 21.  AMAS was doing their clean up last week.

4 - Don McCall & David Miller are working on a club social event.

5 - There is a need to disconnect our old Facebook account (anybody?)

6 - Beer & Wine drawing will be November 1.

7 - Our club received a $1500 check from the Prior Lake Music Fest.  The board approved working the July 12 & 13 event next year.

8 - We approved the following donations:  $395 to send a student to Camp Enterprise; $1,000 extra to ALMAS because of increased enrollment; and $500 for gifts to the Neighbor's Inc. Holiday Gift Program.

From Rotarian Alan Ruvelson:  Rotary is a non-political, non-religious combination of people who want to make the world a better place, even a small part of it.  To achieve their goal, individual Rotarians pay for their association and donate their resources.  Donations generally take the form of skills, expertise and resources of time and money.  Monetary donations can be direct and current, or paid to the Rotary International Foundation (“RIF”) (or to local non-profits, such as the West St. Paul-Mendota Heights Rotary Foundation).  Donations to the West St. Paul-Mendota Heights Rotary Foundation are spent on charities supported by the club.  Donations to RIF are used to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty.  Thanks for this information, Alan!

The board would like to have a local businesses present a 3 minute introduction to their company at each meeting.
