Rotary Roses Info
It's ROSE TIME!!  Here's what you do now:

1. You pick up your roses
  • Pick up times are Tues. afternoon, Apr. 25 from 3-5 p.m. or Wed. morning, Apr. 26 from 6:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
  • Location is at Arctic Glacier Ice, 1654 Marthaler Lane, West St. Paul. Click on the link here and it will take you to the event, which will give you a map.
2. You deliver your roses
3. You turn in your money to Scott at some point in the near future

You may have noticed that the one of the pick up times for roses coincides with our regular meeting time.  THAT'S BECAUSE THERE IS NO MEETING ON APRIL 26!! Go deliver your roses and accept all of the thank-yous and ooohs and aaaahs that your heart can handle. It's really cool.

Remember Scott's handy tips on maximizing shelf the life of the roses:  Fresh water daily with 2 squirts of bleach.

Brian's Surgery Update
Brian McDougall underwent surgery last week to remove a "spot" on his brain that had been the site of a previous tumor 10 years ago. He was also going to have the sunroof closed that had been left in his skull with the previous battle. Good news is that he is home, resting, and eating chicken pot pie.  You can check out his a Caring Bridge page:   http://links.t.caringbridge.org/ctt?kn=1&ms=MTU3MjU4NjES1&r=LTQyODExOTk3ODMS1&b=0&j=MTAwMTQwMzE1NwS2&mt=1&rt=0
Sen. Matt Klein
We were lucky that freshman Senator Matt Klein found time in his schedule to come talk to our Club last week. He was open and engaging and we look for him to do good things for our community!
Rotary District Conference
The Annual Rotary District Conference, "Rotarians Changing the World" will be held April 27 - April 29 at the Holiday Inn East in St. Paul.  Here is the brochure for the event so you can see all the great action. Here is a link to the FB page.  https://www.facebook.com/events/1304457862943298/ On the right hand side you have the option to "invite friends." Please take a moment to invite friends from your Club and the District that you are "friends" with on Facebook. There will be inspirational keynote speakers, musical entertainment and dynamic and interactive breakout sessions.  It is an opportunity to connect with your Rotary family.  Attend as much or little of the conference as you can but with over 60 Clubs participating, it is a great chance to gather a great deal of knowledge about all things Rotary in one visit. Check out the District website at www.rotary5960 for all the details.    Anyone is invited to attend, but if you are on the current Board or next year's Board, you really SHOULD attend. Johanna, Dave, Katie and Bernadette are all signed up already - feel free to join them!
