We all got a good laugh when Randy presented Josh Smotherman with a Rotary "Troublemaker" Pin for his role in the disappearance of the Rotary Bell!

We are excited to start the new year at the South Placer Rotary Club! President Randy has a lot of plans for 2018.  We've got some great speakers lined up and some new service projects on the horizon.  To end the year in 2017, we took a bus load of 8th graders for an educational experience at the Aerospace Museum of Sacramento and also participated in our annual holiday projects.  We served chili at the Rocklin Tree Lighting event alongside our Interact Clubs.  We also shopped, packed and delivered Christmas bags to the children and families of several dozen Rocklin residents.  In order for us to properly serve the community, we need to raise money. Once again the South Placer community came out and supported another very successful Rocklin Brewfest in June. We hope you can join us for Rocklin Brewfest 2018 on June 2nd. We are not all about work, we also like to have fun. Thank you to Bill & Susan Halldin for hosting our holiday party at their home. A great time was had by all and it was a fun way to end the year!  We look forward to seeing what is in store for our club and community in the coming year!

Around the Rotary Club of South Placer
It's hard to believe that we are nearing the end of Summer. Ron Adams is our new club president. If you have been attending meetings, you will know that we have had some amazing speakers and will continue to book great speaker so please make it a priority to attend weekly meetings. District 5180 clubs have been focusing on raising awarness on the growing Human Trafficking issues. We are partnering with local non-profit 3 Strands Global Foundation to educate and help eradicate this in our community.
Our ninth annual Rocklin Brewfest was a huge success with great weather, awesome brewers and of coarse the wonderful people that attend that make it a great event.  Save the date of June 2, 2018 as Tony Owings is leading the charge to make our 10th annual Rocklin Brewfest better than ever.   We have grown this event to become a must attend attraction for our area and we hope to have over 50 breweries and over 2,000 attendee at our event.  The money raise at this event funds all of the giving programs in our community such as the Emancipated Foster Youth at Sierra College.
