On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 carried the first humans to the moon. Six hours after landing on the moon, American Neil Armstrong stepped onto the lunar surface. He spent two and a half hours outside the spacecraft. Buzz Aldrin soon followed, stepping onto the lunar surface. After joining Armstrong, the two men collected 47.5 pounds of lunar material. Their specimens would make the journey back to Earth to be analyzed. In the command module, a third astronaut waited. Pilot, Michael Collins, remained alone in orbit until Armstrong and Aldrin returned.
This week's speaker is Greg Roberson, the City of Rocklin's 2026 Ruhkala Community Service Individual Honore, also known to many as “Mr. Rocklin.” Greg is the Chair of the 2026 Executive Board Team for the Rocklin Chamber of Commerce. He will be presenting a Rocklin Chamber of Commerce Update.

Feeding The Foothills
Last week's speaker was Lisa Heinrich, Director of Development and Communications of Feeding the Foothills (formerly, Placer Food Bank). She shared about their programs and mission to sustain communities by nourishing families experiencing food insecurity, educating the community about hunger, while advocating for hunger relief. There are many opportunities for us to support this great program, and we will host a club service event volunteering at Feeding the Foothills.
Our immediate past president, Damian, has kicked off a program to spotlight our new and veteran members. Last week's spotlight was our new member, Dennis Graves.
