The United States of America is celebrating its 250th on Saturday, July 4, 2026. This milestone is known as the Semiquincentennial. Nationwide events are underway to honor two and a half centuries since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
This week, in observance of the 4th of July, we do not have our lunch meeting. Cheers and Happy Birthday to the USA. We hope you all enjoy the upcoming holiday weekend and can celebrate with friends and family.
REEF
Last week's speaker was Alex Wright, Vice Chair of the Rocklin Educational Excellence Foundation (REEF). He shared their primary goal, to maximize the benefit of each student’s educational experience from kindergarten through high school graduation, so they can achieve their personal best. REEF raises and allocates money to create as many options as possible for the achievement of widespread academic excellence in the Rocklin Unified School District. REEF also raises parental and public awareness about the performance and educational needs of the Rocklin Unified School District.
We also had a few inductions of new members into our club. Welcome, Tony Paulson, Dennis Graves, and Paul Kerns.
Demotion Dinner
This past Sunday, we held our demotion dinner, signifying the end of the current Rotary year and the transition to the next. During which our current president, Damian Lima, recognized those who served as officers, board members, and committee members, as well as those who served the club and community during the 2025/26 Rotary year. We welcomed our 2026/27 Rotary Club President, Twiana Armstrong.
