Placer County Water Agency - 2018 Update

Einar Maisch is the General Manager of the Placer County Water Agency.

Einar joined PCWA in 1985, starting as a Senior Civil Engineer and then as head of the Engineering Department, where responsibilities included oversight of the expansion of water supply capacity to serve west Placer County’s rapid development.

In 2000 Einar was asked to serve as PCWA’s Director of Strategic Affairs where responsibilities included involvement in a wide range of external issues, including: participating in the Sacramento Area Water Forum, funding and constructing a new diversion on the American River at Auburn, relicensing PCWA’s Middle Fork Project and affecting its transition to become a merchant generator in the California energy market.

In 2015 the Agency’s Board of Directors selected Einar to become its General Manager. Priorities since becoming General Manager include: continuing protection of PCWA’s water rights for future economic prosperity; development of a clearer and more transparent annual budget process; combining PCWA’s several separate water systems into a single Zone and budget unit with a single rate schedule; increasing customers accessibility to the Agency; and building PCWA’s stature and influence on state and federal water issues.
