Biography for William H. Duncan IV

 

William H. Duncan IV was selected as the sixth President of Sierra College in 2011. Willy (as he is known to those who have met him) has revitalized the college’s facility master planning efforts resulting in a 20-year plan that includes a new science facility which will double the number of labs available for students, improve traffic and parking, and accommodate future growth in the district. Under his guidance and working closely with the Sierra College Foundation, the college opened its first centralized Veterans Support Center to serve the growing population of returning service men and women. Additionally, Willy has provided leadership and direction for expanded higher education opportunities in Placer County including partnerships with the City of Roseville, California State University Sacramento, and other university partners. Willy is actively involved at the state level and serves on multiple committees and task forces. He is a board member of the Community College Facility Coalition (CCFC), NextEd, Valley Vision, and the Placer County Economic Development Board. He is an active member of several Chambers of Commerce, including the Sacramento Metro Chamber, and he is a lifelong Rotarian. Willy and his wife, Melody, have two sons and a daughter and live happily in Newcastle, California.
