The Rotary E-Club of Canada One received Provisional status on October 2011, and is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Stony Plain in District 5370, the Rotary Club of Sarnia, Ontario, and the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie, Alberta. It was chartered on the 109th birthday of Rotary, on February 23, 2013, in a ceremony hosted across North America, and attended by Rotarians and guests from around the world, using the GoToWebinar platform. Rotary International Director Bryn Styles delivered the key-note address from the Peace Forum in Vancouver, Canada. District Governor Kevin Hilgers brought greetings from the Charter District 5370.  Our e-Club posts a new meeting at the beginning of each week, for members and guests to both remain connected to the e-Club, and to receive credit for meeting attendance. Beginning in mid-June 2012, the website started to allow for ‘make-ups’ from visiting Rotarians, with much positive feedback. Club Committee Chairs meet monthly with their committees. The Board meets monthly using the GoToMeeting on-line meeting platform. Board meetings are open to all members and are preceded by a fellowship opportunity.

E-clubs conduct weekly club business online, through assignments and participation in various activities. The e-Club allows members to be actively involved in Rotary at any time of the day, any day of the week, whether they are in London, Ontario at 2 am, in pyjamas with milk and cookies, or in Mexico at 5 pm on the beach with a glass of wine in hand. Their e-clubhouse is open 24/7.  Members choose the time and the day of the week to participate.

The membership has selected an International project to support, and considers Community projects as well. There is participation in PolioPlus and other RI Foundation programs. Even participation in Youth Exchange is possible. For those who travel in fellow members’ areas, plans are made for face to face visits, and members are also encouraged to attend a District Conference in their area. E-Club members who reside close to each other come together for service and fellowship.
We invite you to visit us on Facebook as well as on our website. Comment, sign up for the weekly bulletin, and click LIKE.
