Greeter this week: Bruce Kleeberger

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Rotary E-Club of Canada One, now 5 years young and going strong. Recently members of the e-club attended the Rotary Presidential Peacebuilding Conference 2018, in Vancouver BC during February 9 - 11. The first of 5, this conference focused on Environmental Sustainability and Peace. Rotarians from around the world gathered in Vancouver, to participate in workshops and learn about topics of worldwide concern including food production and distribution, tree planting and ecology, population and the environment, environment and international conflict. RI President Ian Riseley opened the conference, Green Party MP Elizabeth May introduced the keynote speaker Dr. David Suzuki.

Comments from our Guests and Members
Members and guest attending our weekly meetings are very important to us. Based on your comments we are able to produce many more educational, inspiring and entertaining weekly meetings.
Following are some of the comments we have received. Would you send us your comments please?

I must say that this was both a wonderful and inspiring program.  If God grants any of us the chance to live until 100 or more, then we must surely use this time wisely, and fill it with the same sort of accomplishments and joys which the three people interviewed have.
Delwen Stander, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

Interesting findings and examples of elderly, vision impaired people having hallucinations. Hundreds of thousands of people are visually impaired but and all have these hallucinations, yet only one percent report them. This is due to the fact that others will think they are crazy.
Christine Vachon, RC of Westlock, Alberta, D-5370

Live Lessons from 100 Year Olds
It was refreshing to hear the perspectives of folks with so much life experience. The perspective I appreciated is that all 3 individuals shared the common characteristics of a positive approach to life and willingness to give back.

David Munro, RC of Coquitlam, BC, D-5050

Food for Thought

"There is nothing intangible about Rotary: It is reality itself. To give is to receive;
to lose oneself is to find oneself; to be happy is to serve. These are old truths...for
the individual...and the mass, whether application be in the exchange of goods,
toil, knowledge, or love."

- The Meaning of Rotary, THE ROTARIAN, November 1921

Rotary Jukebox
