Greeter this week: Tammy Waugh

Recently Frank and I took a quick trip to Las Vegas to see Sir Elton John at Caesar's Palace.  It was a fabulous show, worth every penny!  We also had the pleasure of attending the noon meeting of the "Rotary Club of Las Vegas" at 4 Queens Hotel, Fremont St (Las Vegas rotary.com).  What a great group of Rotarians.  As it turned out, we were not the only guests.  The LV Rotary Club's international committee billeted a male soccer team from Oswestry School in Shropshire, England. The team competed in the annual "Las Vegas Mayor's Cup International Showcase", 1200 teams from around the world for youth aged 12-19 years.  This event generates $26 million annually for the city (lvmayorscup.com).  Thanks to our new Rotarian friends in Las Vegas for a fun and informative meeting!

Comments from our Guests and Members
Members and guest attending our weekly meetings are very important to us. Based on your comments we are able to produce many more educational, inspiring and entertaining weekly meetings.
Following are some of the comments we have received. Would you send us your comments please?

One of the most influential approaches in personality science is known as trait psychology, and it aligns you along five dimensions which are normally distributed, and that describe universally held aspects of difference between people. They spell out the acronym OCEAN. So, "O" stands for "open to experience," versus those who are more closed. "C" stands for "conscientiousness," in contrast to those with a more lackadaisical approach to life. "E" - "extroversion," in contrast to more introverted people. "A" - "agreeable individuals," in contrast to those decidedly not agreeable. And "N" - "neurotic individuals," in contrast to those who are more stable.
Michael Thomas, RC of Stony Plain, Alberta, D-5370

Dr. Brian Little's presentation was one of the best I have heard!  Totally engaging.
Sharon Blaker, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

Vincent Cochetel's talk really brings being a hostage home to reality.  When you hear his experience and the fact he lived through it, makes you understand how war and conflict really impacts lives.
Phyllip Pressey, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

I think I am an introvert!  Nice way from Dr. Little to explain some of the actual puzzles of personality. :)

Phyll Pressey, member of the E-Club family, recently returned from his winter residence on Roatan, Honduras. Now he is back in London, Ontario and his ability to attend our meetings are better. Phill will give his Classification Talk during our next Fellowship Assembly on April 18. Don’t miss it.

Elly and Ramiro also left their winter residence in Manzanillo, Mexico a few days ago, and are back in Osoyoos, where the tulips are in full bloom.

We love to hear about your Winter.
Send a short note to Elly about your activities as part of our Rotary Family.

The History of Easter seals in Canada
The formation of Easter Seals Ontario can be traced back to November 28, 1922, when representatives from seven (Hamilton, Windsor, Kitchener, Chatham, Toronto, Stratford and London) Rotary Clubs met in Windsor, Ontario to discuss the inadequate resources and support available for the province's children with physical disabilities. Recognizing a need for action, they formed the Ontario Society for Crippled Children, inspired by the American organization of the same name, which had been recently created by Ohio businessman, Edgar Allen.

"One cannot change anything with worry. Actions speak larger than words. It is great to leave each one you meet a little stronger and happier.
Love this cheery song. Hope you have a great day!"
