Greeter this week: Lou Spizzirri

(Here I am at the Rotary meeting in Marsh Harbour with their President)
Greetings Fellow Rotarians!
Recently I purchased a home. I hadn't had my own home for 6 years. This was due to circumstances which would require a much longer detailing of my life than is practical in a greeter's message.
During this time I travelled extensively. I was in Europe, island hopped in the Caribbean from Trinidad to the Bahamas, and East to Cape Breton, sailed the Queen Charlottes in the West, as far North as The Pas and Grand Prarie, and South to Key West Florida.
Throughout this time I have had the opportunity to meet Rotarians all over. While island hopping in the Caribbean I took the time to visit clubs. Last year in the Bahamas in Marsh Harbour, the meeting just before Christmas was an excellent example of seeing fellow Rotarians having fun and doing good work in the community. The fun was when the club sang Christmas Carols. Of course there was an "island" flavor to the singing. At a Rotary conference in The Pas the DG took me fishing and I caught my first 4lb fish. We let it go, apparently it wasn't worth keeping.
With the house purchase, my traveling will be mostly to the hardware and grocery stores. The local clubs here continue doing what Rotarians do best. They have fun, raise money for community and world projects. The Sarnia After-Hours Club which at which I have been going to the occasional meeting has been encouraging me to return to a "Terra" club. They recently held a Trivia Night and raised $11,000. It was fun and during their meeting they openly discussed how to spread the funds around.
Welcome to this week's meeting. Remember to leave a little at the end. It's like paying for lunch.
