Greeter this week: Jordan Pind
Welcome 欢迎 Welcome,
Rotary has impacted to my life to a degree that I can't fully put into words. The year 2013/2014 was one that is full of stories, adventures and friendships. I was a Rotary Youth Exchange Student living in Taipei, Taiwan hosted by District 3480 of the Taipei Yung Dong Rotary Club. My sponsor club The Peterborough- Kawartha Rotary Club of district 7010 set me up for a great exchange. The photo below is me with my host parents on my last day getting ready to fly home at the airport. I'm smiling with my rotary certificate of a successful year but inside I am saddened. My exchange was more than I would have ever imagined. Rotary made this opportunity possible and I cherish each and every memory of Taiwan. It is the reason I have decided to join Rotary. I hope I can make more of these opportunities available to others. It is my turn to pay back by being a small gift to rotary!

Sadly, one must take much of Mr. Carter's ramblings with a grain of salt. To equate real abuses of women and girls in third world countries, such a genital mutilation (a very pernicious and barbaric practice) with the jailing of black women criminals in his country is ludicrous.
Delwen Stander, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

Peace with the land, working with the land makes for a strong nation, dependence on outside sources of food supplies equals failure.
Frank Yakimchuk, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

Syria, yes, we must do something about Syria....there are many genuine refugees coming out of Syria, but must we also tolerate the civil unrest that many of these "refugees" seem to foment in their receiving countries? Aid for the grateful but a hard line against those who abuse their welcome....or the Syria problem will be all of our problems in ways we may come to regret.
Chris Langley, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

Fun Facts about Canada was very interesting. I spent a lot of time (2 Hours) reading about all the activities happening at the Rotary Clubs in Westlock, Lloyd, Vermillion, Wainwright, Battlefords, Dawson Creek and Fort Nelson. I have gained many ideas which I have never thought of before.
Judith Jones, Weyburn Rotary Club, D-5530

As someone who speaks in front of various audiences on a regular base I always find it helpful to get pointers and insight from experts like Julian. I especially found his list of 7 Deadly Sins of conversations and 4 ways to improve your conversation style of interest.
Craig Fowler, Rotary Club of Barrie, D-7010

Mr. Jim shared his experience regarding hosting a GSE team member.

I find television to be very educational.  Every time someone turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.
