Greetings from from sunny White Rock, B.C. Our triathlon season is almost over and we are starting to think of goals for next year and what we need to do to achieve those goals. As Rotarians it is important to set goals, be it attaining funding for an international project, perfect attendance, becoming a Paul Harris recipient or a major donor to the foundation or as in my case taking over one of the clubs projects- the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Program. I would like to issue a challenge to all club members: set a personal goal for yourself to achieve something in Rotary and start the journey of achieving that goal. Your goal does not need to be complicated- it needs to be achievable and can be a short term ( for this Rotary year) or long-term (over several years) goal. Remember great things start with one idea and the hardest part is taking the first step.

We talk about gender confusion, and we are often responsible for it by not clearly differentiating between the genders and embracing and affirming both genders as important and necessary.

TED Talk
How not to be ignorant of the world.
Enjoyed perspective, and ability to listen to talk a second time while driving home to fully absorb content and ideas. Used this opportunity to subscribe to TED.com
Kelly Herndon, RC of Gwinnett, D-6910

Having two daughters myself, the talk was enlightening. I never considered how media companies manipulate our views regarding male or female stars.
Small wonder that women still struggle world wide to be treated as equals in male dominated societies. Good for Christopher to bring this to our attention.
Lou Spizzirri, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370
Having 4 daughters and 2 granddaughters I could relate to Mr. Bell's position. I am enjoying the speakers very much as I probably wouldn't take the time to listen to TED talks if I wasn't part of the E-Club.
Sharon Blaker, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

Rotary is more than a club, it is a worldwide network of Rotarians sharing ideas and working together for the benefit of those less fortunate.
Our E-Club is part of a District, which covers Northern Alberta, Eastern British Columbia and a small part of Western Saskatchewan. Our District is governed by a District Governor, who uses our model for an example to others, advices us on Rotary policies and participates in our Fellowship.
One of the duties of a DG is to meet with the board of each club and addresses our club members, informing us about Rotary news and our annual Theme.
We are excited to announce, that DG Laura Morie will be meeting with our board on Tuesday, October, 18, prior to our Fellowship Assembly, during which she will make her presentation.
During this Fellowship Assembly we may also hear from Biswanath Chakrabarty who will be on site in India giving us an update on our Education project there.
Tuesday, October 18, 6:00 pm Mountain Time.
