For those who were not able to attend the Rotary Convention, you really missed several most inspiring days.  40,000 plus Rotarians and partners came together in Atlanta to celebrate Rotary and the many achievements we have made together.
We learned, were inspired, shared ideas and made new friends. We celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Rotary Foundation, the $1.2 Billion USD pledged to fund the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. The biggest contributor is the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation pledging $450 Million, Rotary pledged another $150 Million,  Nigeria $140 Million, Pakistan $100 Million and Canada $75 Million as well as a host of other donors.
Andrew Young was also a very inspiring speaker, who reminded us of the importance to focus on the positive and less on the negative. We have so many blessings, but tend to forget about those.
Yes, we stood in line for food almost every day, but at least we ended up with a plate full of food rather than ending up with a handful of rice.
We heard about the stunning numbers of in human trafficking and slavery.
We as Rotarians, are the once to bring these messages to our politicians. We have work to do.
The speakers we had were all amazing:

The House of friendship held numerous project and hobby displays. The evenings were filled with social events, meeting more Rotary friends, and visiting some of the highlights of Atlanta.
4 of our E-club members and their partners shared a house during the convention and had the opportunity to spent time together. Fellowship is one of the highlights of Rotary.
Some of us registered for the Toronto Convention, and hope to see you there.

Re:Gary Haugen
It is wonderful to have a person of authority standing up speaking to adults today to say our grandchildren will hold us accountable for what we didn't stand up for today that was wrong (& celebrating what we did stand up for that was right).

Rotary Minute, musical video, speaker on human trafficking from RI Seoul Convention. One of the Best E-Club websites I have seen.
Terrence M White, RC of Westwood Village, Los Angeles, California, D-5280

I did not really enjoy, but was very intrigued about the issue of slavery. Comparing to the work eradicating polio, slavery AND rotary APPEAR TO BE A COMPELLING FIT.
Wayne Lannon, RC of Westlock, Alberta, D-5370

Enjoyed JP insight into declining costs of computer storage. Noticing the changes around us can be very exciting and dynamic if we are proactively part of them.
1980 until now may not seem a long life cycle for an industry but if change happens this quickly in the future what are the things in life that do really last?
Where then should we invest our time?
