Greeter this week: JC Reyes
This greeting should be more of a public announcement warning, to our loyal and dedicated members, visitors and to you new guest. This week I begin my role in looking after and organizing the content of the website and although I am up to the task, I am certain that even my best effort will come short to the quality that our past program directors have churn out. At least for the first couple of weeks, until I get the hang of it and figure out how to add a monkey wrench to it and make my predecessors proud!

I greet you this week from London Ontario, like many of our members I have a lively weekly travel schedule and this club is one of the best tools to stay grounded and connected to rotary. If you are a first time guest, consider viewing past meetings and don’t forget to come back weekly, even if it is just for a visit. If you are a member, well, drop me a line, chances are that your absenteeism from participating is as tragic as mine, but hopefully we can collectively work in getting you more involved.

In the coming weeks/months we will be making a number of changes, integrating the Facebook page tighter to the website, developing mechanisms that will allow us to increase our reach and turn this wonderful tool into the world engine that it merits to be, we have created great content in the past few years and I have no doubt in my mind that the tradition started by Elly Contreras and Bruce K. of excellence will continue!

Members and guest attending our weekly meetings are very important to us. Based on your comments we are able to produce many more educational, inspiring and entertaining weekly meetings.
Following are some of the comments we have received. Would you send us your comments please?
"I found it very interesting how she has evolved since he time in the spotlight. I felt she never did get to tell her story."
Craig Fowler, RC Barrie, D7010

I enjoyed the Rotary Moment about why be a Paul Harris Fellow.  I am a Paul Harris Fellow and thought I had a good understanding about why.  This gave me a better one.
Janis French, St Thomas,District  7020

Elly's talk about the Foundation was inspirational.  There is always something that we can do to help.

A One Page History of Rotary

(submitted by Lynne)

In 1905, 37 year old attorney Paul Harris changed the world
Paul Harris, who was raised by his New England grandparents with values of tolerance toward all, gained his law degree in 1891. 1In his senior year, a former graduate told his class that they should “Go to a small town for five years make a fool of themselves, then go to the big city!” Paul decided to hit the road for the entire world. He worked as a reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle, 1891; manual labourer on a fruit ranch, then raisin packing plant, teacher at the L.A. Business College in 1892. Denver, Colorado, 1892: Actor in a stock company, reporter for the Rocky Mountain News, cowboy, reporter for The Republican. Jacksonville, Florida: St. James Hotel night clerk, travelling granite/marble salesman 1892/93, reporter on the Washington Star, cattleman on a ship 1893, haymaker and cannery worker 1893, sub-foreman of the gang of cattlemen 1893, (where he wrote that, on his first voyage, he experienced sub-human conditions); orange picker in Florida 1893, back to Jacksonville selling marble granite.

Polio update on CNN
60 years after a vaccine, new technology may finally eradicate polio…
(CNN)Over the last few years, we've been close to eradicating worldwide polio without full success. However, a new medical technology, an easily applied microneedle patch, could be the key to that goal.

Life is about making an impact, not making an income.

Speaker Program
Sir Ken Robinson makes an entertaining and profoundly moving case for creating an education system that nurtures (rather than undermines) creativity.
