This past July, my wife Jocelyne and I sold our house in Spruce Grove, Alberta and started building at Skeleton Lake in Northern Alberta.
Because we are on the lake shore, surrounded by trees, we can't get a strong Internet signal which makes communicating with other E-Club members a real challenge.
The very nature of our E-Club is based on the use of Internet for weekly attendance, Fellowship Assemblies, Board meetings, GoToMeeting's, etc.
The solution? By driving about 5KM with my iPad, I would park my truck near a Telus tower, which provides excellent reception for these meetings.
It might look a little odd, but as they say, "where there's a will, there's a way"!
Enjoy this weeks meeting, compiled by our members that are spread right across Canada and the United States.

Comments from our Guests and Members
Members and guest attending our weekly meetings are very important to us. Based on your comments we are able to produce many more educational, inspiring and entertaining weekly meetings.
Following are some of the comments we have received. Would you send us your comments please?

"I work in education and often discuss the topic of the efficacy of current pedagogical practices, so this stuff was pretty familiar to me."
Laurie Prange-Martin, RC Whitehorse, D5010

So much in this program! Inspirational moments, nostalgia, international programs, history on Rotary and very important topics that need to be discussed. I showed the video "It Only Takes a Girl" to my two daughters and you could see the disturbed looks on their faces but you could also see "the wheels" turning. If you wonder if the topic of how girls (women) are treated in "this day and age" all you need to do is watch the video on YouTube and scroll down to look at the comments. This is the real eye-opener and makes it clear that there is much more education required.
Philip Laitar RC Woodstock D7080.

Polio update on CNN
60 years after a vaccine, new technology may finally eradicate polio…
(CNN)Over the last few years, we've been close to eradicating worldwide polio without full success. However, a new medical technology, an easily applied microneedle patch, could be the key to that goal.

Life is about making an impact, not making an income.

Speaker Program
Simon Sinek has a simple but powerful model for inspirational leadership all starting with a golden circle and the question "Why?" His examples include Apple, Martin Luther King, and the Wright brothers
