If someone asks me today if I want to "join" Rotary, or come to a "meeting", I would likely decline. The fact is, these two words scare people away; "Joining" and "meetings".
Instead I would ask: "Come over for a drink and we can watch a great speaker together on the big screen, perhaps we can do some networking and I'll tell you about this great organization I belong to.
2017 was the third-highest number of members in our history; We continue to exceed 1.2 million members, and we have the opportunity to reach our highest membership ever by increasing our efforts to attract new members and retain existing ones.
We need YOU to reach out to the younger generation, and there are thousands of them willing to serve. There are a quarter of a million Rotaractors in over 10,000 clubs. Once they turn 30 they leave Rotaract and are eligible to be part of Rotary.
So let's get the word out: Seek them out on Facebook, invite them to our website. Send a FaceBook or Text message to your kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews with a link to some of our best speaker programs, inspirational moments, or perhaps the humorous moment. Invite them to post on our FB pages. Ask them if they like to form a small group with their peers and address a need in their community.

Allow the young generation to work with us; Extend an invitation to our Forum Tuesday, March 20, at 6:00pm (MST) and hear what their peers have to say about Rotary. Rotary is changing our next Rotarians will be different, and starts with YOU, and your willingness to share this link.

Comments from our Guests and Members
Members and guest attending our weekly meetings are very important to us. Based on your comments we are able to produce many more educational, inspiring and entertaining weekly meetings.
Following are some of the comments we have received. Would you send us your comments please?

Good to read about areas that motivate our members to serve. or are interested in learning more. It is easier to do this with like-minded people for sure and we offer volunteers that opportunity regardless of their skills, training or interests.

I enjoyed meeting Doug Dyer at a Rotary meeting in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico on 6 Feb 2018, and again in the central bus station on 12 Feb!
Edward Jacob, RC of Chicago -O'Hare, D-6450

The Rotary Minute article on helping the poor and shelterless in Mexico was enlightening.  I was completely unaware of these issues and hope Levi will continue to bring them to the forefront.
Darlene Garat, RC of Campbell River, D-5020

There's always time to change our eating and excercise habits, despite we are getting older. I am trying!
Nosberto Lou, RC of Guatemala North, D-4250

'What the hell is going on?' Polio cases are vanishing in Pakistan, yet the virus won't go away
Just a year ago, poliovirus seemed on its last legs in Pakistan, one of its final strongholds. Polio cases were steadily falling, from 306 in 2014 to 54 in 2015, 20 in 2016, and, by last count, eight in 2017. Blood tests showed that, overall, immunity to the virus had never been higher, even among children aged 6 to 11 months, thanks to years of tireless vaccination campaigns. Surely, there were not enough susceptible kids to sustain transmission, and the virus would burn itself out within a year.
