Rotary to me, is a vessel through which I can give to my community and the world some of what I have gained through contributions in kind and donations. For many years I have experienced Rotary and found it exemplifies the spirit of giving without need for recognition. From its international programs to help the poor enable themselves, to local projects where you can see the wonderful results we’re an organization where you can roll up your sleeves and get it done! That’s where the satisfaction comes from. Most importantly there’s the lifelong relationships we build. Be they from fellow members you see every week or those you chance meet when travelling everyone’s spirit is the same and the experience makes our lives that much better.

Comments from our Guests and Members
We always like to hear from our guests and members. Following are some of the things they tell us on the attendance form.
We would like you to receive your comments as well.

"When listening to the video on The Rotary Foundation in Action, I learned a little more about the history of Rotary, the six areas of focus of the foundation and some of the programs the foundation has implemented.  Although I am not a new member, I also reviewed the New Member corner that talked about Dr. Jonas Stalk's discovery of the polio vaccine in 1955.  I was already aware of this, but didn't know it was on the U of M campus!"
Dawn Crichton, RC Greater Flint Sunrise Rotary - D6330

"The program was an excellent refresher to remind us of all that the foundation does in the world. Keep up the good work e-club"
William Bell, RC Lancaster, PA - D7390

"I like the convenience of site and presentation of same and history of Rotary.  Also added bit of humour most enjoyable.   Although a member for over seven years, the polio history was most appreciated".
Amanda Reimer, RC Grande Prairie Swan City - D5370

Brain Agility and Peanut Butter

WHAT IF… doing something normal in a different way makes you smarter?

I have a grandson who is very particular about how his PB & J sandwich should be made—peanut butter on one slice, jelly on the other, cut diagonally. But research says by taking a normal everyday activity like making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and then doing it differently you encourage your brain to make connections and to be creative. So for your PB & J eater, try this. Put the peanut butter and jelly on the same slice and cut vertically. Pull the components of the sandwich together and you will still have something enjoyable to eat — AND you will have started to encourage your brain to not solely rely on one way to get things done.
