Greeter this week: Colleen Milne

Greetings and welcome to our weekly meeting at Rotary E-Club of Canada ONE!

We are thrilled to have you join us from wherever you are in the world. One of the great joys for me as a Rotarian is meeting new people who share a vision for a better world. Rotary allows us to share our individual passions and desires with a collective group that gives life to a project - many hands make light work! Other than THIS meeting, our Club members meet on the phone, via skype or gotomeeting.com to discuss ideas, needs and assess projects we want to undertake and to update progress of project that are underway. The business of our Club is done via this online format too - with great efficiency and from the comfort of our own homes, RV or hotel room -  wherever we happen to be!  It's unique, it's satisfying and it works! A special treat for me is having a fellow Club Member visit in person while they are passing through my city!  THANKS Bruce, Lynne, Vicky, Tessa and Frank - it was wonderful to spend time with you in person! I'm ALWAYS inspired by Rotarians.  WE GET IT DONE!
Welcome again and may you be inspired by the messages below.
Please come again!

Singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen dead at 82

Record label calls Cohen an 'unparalleled artist'

Legendary Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen has died at the age of 82.

"My father passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles with the knowledge that he had completed what he felt was one of his greatest records. He was writing up until his last moments with his unique brand of humour," said his son, Adam, in a statement.

Comments from our Guests and Members

Members and guest attending our weekly meetings are very important to us. Based on your comments we are able to produce many more educational, inspiring and entertaining weekly meetings.
Following are some of the comments we have received. Would you send us your comments please?

I was moved most by the inspirational video with Marc Mero.  It's a reminder that our relationships are what matter most, and not to take them for granted.
Judy Redpath, Herndon Rotary Club, D-7610

J. Hemmerling makes a great point of putting people first and his reference to inclusion is critical to change of work culture and successes.
Frank Yakimchuk, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

Jim Hemmerling spoke on the topic of 5 ways to lead in an era of constant change. To be successful you have a mindset of people  first.  Then use 5 ways to lead the people you have which are;
1. inspire through purpose
2. go all in and don't hesitate or hold back
3. enable people with the capabilities to do the job
4. instill a culture of continuous learning
5. hold people accountable for results and let them be inclusive in the decisions.

Michael Thomas, Rotary Club of Stony Plain, D-5370

The program was informative as I enjoy leadership programs. The Canadian Day of Remembrance Video was outstanding.
Tom McCasland, RC of Lafayette, LA, D-6200
