Air Canada flight helps locate sailor off Australian coast
Australian authorities are thanking the crew of an Air Canada flight for helping to locate a sailor in distress off the country's east coast.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) said Tuesday it received an emergency beacon activation at 8:15 a.m. local time, coming from approximately 270 nautical miles (500 kilometres) east of Sydney.
The AMSA requested Air Canada Flight AC033, a Boeing 777 en route from Vancouver to Sydney with 270 passengers and 18 crew aboard, to divert to the area of the beacon.

Thanks to the E-Club of Canada One, I can feel part of the fellowship of our group while sipping a Pernod on the side of the pool on the Riviera Maya. At the same time, I am surrounded by my whole family enjoying great family activities that we could not have at the -25 degree of Calgary. Happy 2018 to all!

The TED talk by Sparsh Shah is incredible. How a boy with such a disability could be so inspired and confident to do so much in his short life is almost beyond belief. What an inspiration to try and do better.

Each 3rd Tuesday of the month from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm (MDT) is our Fellowship Assembly, and we often invite interesting speakers or Rotary Leaders for this entertaining, educational fun event.
