ImageGreeter this week: Kerry Hammel
Hello my name is Kerry Hammel and I would like to welcome you to the Rotary E-Club of Western Canada.
When I was asked to be the greeter and submit something about myself and a picture I realized that since I was usually the one taking the pictures I could not find one taken of me on my computer to upload.
Hmmm, I think my hobby may have some benefits. I also enjoy spending time with my family, scrapbooking and quilting.
I joined the Rotary Club of Kindersley, Saskatchewan one year ago and am enjoying the meetings and the members of our club.  I also took on the membership portfolio which has been interesting.
We just finished our major fundraiser; It went well and everyone had fun.
I attended the District 5360 Conference in May and also Make Dreams Real in October.
Attending these conferences helped me meet some amazing people and showed
me that every dream starts with one small step and with support and perseverance that dreams can be realized. The dreams of Rotary are being realized every day as each of us contribute, making the world a better place for everyone.
I hope you all have a great week and remember to keep dreaming!

Inspirational Moment
This week’s speaker program also brings a wonderful inspirational message. Please continue.

Please stand for the National Anthem
With which this meeting is officially opened.

Comments from Our Guests
Each week we receive comments from guests and prospective members, who attend our e-meetings. We like to share some of their comments with you.
This week we had 8 guests.
“One wonders why we are not hearing about this technology of Turning plastic into oil in the main stream media?
Could you present a follow up on the oil industry and government reaction to this development.”
Robert Boyden" – RC Canmore, D5360

“We can make the world a better place with this, turning plastic into oil technology.....maybe a future Rotary project!” Lou/Tanya Spizzirri/Wolff, D5370

“This is a fascinating idea. I never even considered the idea that plastic could be broken down to create oil. The national anthem video collage was nice to watch”.
Amy Sutherland - Traverse City, D6290

“Always great to see what other clubs are doing”.
Rick Gibson, Strathcona Sunrise, D5020

“Enjoyed the article about how Light is symbolic throughout the world. In India, Diwali is a five day festival of light. The crystal ball in Times Square (New York City) light is the central symbol. In Rotary the Service Above Self motto brings a human light as the spread of polio is eradicated.”
Christine Downey, Edmonton Northeast, D5370

  Speaker Program

We have received several requests to feature more Ted Talks Videos. This week’s beautiful presentation is tied in with our spiritual moment.

Louie Schwartzberg: Nature. Beauty. Gratitude.
Nature’s beauty can be easily missed -- but not through Louie Schwartzberg’s lens. His stunning time-lapse photography, accompanied by powerful words from Benedictine monk Brother David Steindl-Rast, serves as a meditation on being grateful for every day.

This officially ends this week’s meeting
