Greeter this week: President James (Jim) Ferguson, 2015-2016

Greetings, from Skeleton Lake, Alberta, Canada.
As my term as President for the 2015 - 2016 Rotary year starts, I want to acknowledge the groundwork laid by our previous leaders Elly Contreras, Bruce Kleeberger and Doug Dyer.
PP Elly was our Charter President, who developed the website and weekly meeting,
PP Bruce helped refine our Bylaws and procedures,  and PP Doug was an encouraging influence on the day to day running of the EClub.
All of them helped guide our EClub to where it is today.
But none of them could have evolved the EClub without input from our members, who are spread across Canada and the USA.

Going forward, my vision is to make our weekly online meeting the premier destination for Rotarians around the world, while expanding our DPIL program throughout the Beaufort Sea area of the NWT.

We can only achieve this through the input from our members, and guests.
Involvement is critical to help achieve lofty goals.

On behalf of my 2015 - 2016 "teammates",  David Werrett, Paul Falvo, John Kay, Doug Dyer, Frank Yakimchuk,  and Sue Croft, I welcome you to this weeks meeting.
Let's continue to do good Rotary work in the world!

Scilla developed the theme that calm conquors fear;
Wisdom conquors anger, and we must learn to use anger in a positive way as fuel to drive our loving, caring engine of service and help.

Harold Witte, Edmonton Mayfield, D-5370

As my District's outgoing Polio Plus Chair I was encouraged to hear how RI's approach to addressing global health issues is so bang on .. and proud to have been a (small) part of it.
I must add though, that I got the most pleasure out of watching the video about Madisson. I had the pleasure of working for many years with the Rotary D5370 Employment Partnership Program - which engages Rotarians in finding employers for individuals with developmental disabilities as identified by the partner agency, AACL.
On both accounts a great energy-boost in being a Rotarian and having the honour of being able to help others.

John Wojcicki, Edmonton, D-5370

Enjoyed the presentation and found the common themes to be very much common sense ideas - moderate and continuous exercise, low stress environment, sense of purpose, eat wisely and connect. As you can see, i found this presentation very interesting that I took some notes.
Campbell Chow, Edmonton Strathcona, D-5370

The speakers view on the human brain was very informative and lets you understand how we make decisions in real life.
Phyllip Pressey, The Rotary Club of London South D-6330
