E-Clubs in Canada raised over $17,000 for polio plus on World Polio day.

Hello everyone, today I want to tell you how the Canadian E-Clubs raised money for Polio Plus, one of the ways the Rotary Foundation is fighting disease. After reading this message I hope that you will consider making your next foundation donation to Polio Plus.
It started with a question: how could E-Clubs raise money on World Polio day? It ended with a 5 hour rolling meeting across Canada.
In true Rotary fashion, the call went out. Members from each of the four E-Clubs came together to plan and deliver the meeting. Tasks were assigned to individuals and regular meetings held in the month leading up to October 24th. Non-Rotarians with needed skills helped as well.
The end result was the delivery of a live meeting with short presentations from individuals deeply involved in efforts to eradicate Polio across Canada and around the world. A 1 hour video of the meeting is available here: https://vimeo.com/239828765
The success of this meeting illustrates how an idea from one person can grow into a successful endeavor with the help of many.  A huge thank you to all who worked so hard to make this rolling meeting happen!
Remember when you make your next donation to the Rotary Foundation allocate it to Polio Plus. Your donation to Polio Plus is eligible for Paul Harris recognition points.

Very touching program - both my parents and in-laws served overseas (father -in-law and mother-in-law in RCAF and my parents in the Allied Polish Army) and somehow managed to survive and come home to start their families ... otherwise neither my wife nor I would be here today. They were the lucky ones - bless those who were not so fortunate and gave of themselves so that my wife and I can now raise our own families in peace. How proud it feels to be a Canadian.

I enjoyed Brad's talk: Be able to laugh at yourself, be good at what you do, and be good to people. i learned it a bit differently: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build good will and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? Oh, yeah, and have fun doing it!
Fred Nesbitt, RC of Albion, NY, USA, D-7090

The E.J. Wilson TED Talk was mesmerizing.  Real people; real communication. Something I am passionate about as a restorative practitioner.
Sharon Blaker, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

Ted talk with Theo E.J. Wilson providing a different view to the alt right racist perspective on black people. His talk was enlightening, interesting and intelligent.
