Greeter this week: Keith Evans

As the most recent member of this Club, I welcome you to this week's e-Club meeting. While a "newbie" here, I have been connected with Rotary since 1981, when as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar (recommended by the Rotary Club of North Sydney, N.S) I studied for a year at the University of Sydney, Australia and got my LLM there while being well looked after by the West Sydney Club.  The picture is a "selfie" taken in the middle of my two month long journey to Australia.

I returned to Rotary in 2008, becoming a member of Edmonton Northeast in Alberta.  In a 2012 move to England, I transferred to the Walton-on-Thames Club, and while still in England, I joined Canada One in July. My early Rotary experience made me a true internationalist, and it is fantastic that Rotary provides a home for its members all over the world.
I am glad you have been able to join us from around the world at our meeting this week.

Amazing history lesson. It was very nice to learn about the Underwater Forest and the impacts of rising sea waters and climate change. Very pleased to have watched this.
David Munro, RC of Coquitlam, BC, D-5050

I have attended several sessions and find the format enlightening.
Christopher Soper, RC of Stephenville, NL, D-7820

Jim, Great to see your travels to other Rotary Clubs and some of their accomplishments.
Bruce your leadership in your communities and quest for learning, grand fathering and service are qualities Rotary e-Club admire.

Great message to each of us!

Lynne Ternosky, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

Fascinating program traveling along with Cassie to 196 countries. Brought back some memories of when my youngest son did a (much!) smaller 4-month trip across the big water and happened to leave his stop at a Paris Café one day before its bombing and then leave Turkey one day before the Russian fighter was shot down there. But given Cassie's experiences abroad it was cool to hear that we can still have faith in humanity.

News from the Rotary E-Club Family

On 20 Sep 2017, I flew to Kelowna BC to spend a few days with middle daughter Trish.  The following day we drove to Osoyoos for an appointment.  Afterwards we surprised Elly & Ramiro at their noon Rotary meeting.  Although we were unable to stay for the meeting, we heard afterwards that Ramiro presented an excellent classification talk.    Although brief, it was a great opportunity to connect with Rotary friends.
If you've never had a chance to visit the Okanagan Valley in BC please consider this destination in your travel plans.  It is a beautiful part of our great country.
