Greeter This Week:Anre McIntosh
Greeting fellow Rotarians and guests
I am a new member of e club one but have been a Rotarian since 2004. My thoughts have been on Halloween, the hoard of kids and parents that will be out and about on Saturday night,  how dark it will be and how hard it can be to see both pedestrians and cyclists (yes I live on the West Coast where we are lucky enough to be able to bike all year).
As we approach day light savings time and darker nights please consider the following when you are out and about if you are walking: wear clothes so you will be seen-something reflective or light coloured or consider carrying wearing a light.  If you have to cross the street use marked crossings. If you are on a bike or some other non-car mode of transport have a front or back light and wear a helmet! When driving take a second look before you drive through the intersection particularly at stop signs.
Have a safe Halloween!

This was a very interesting and inspirational look at the good that Rotary does around the world ie water sanitation, literacy programs ect. I highly recommend this to all R.I. members to see.
Sam Theocharis, Rotary Club of Festival City, D-6330

If we love ourselves, we can love others more easily and accept others as they are. But like Louise said, loving ourselves takes work.
Vicky Horsfield, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

A wonderful interview with Louise who I am a follower of but have not read her book in a while so this was a great reminder of her message!  Thank you.
Janice Vervaeke, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

I have heard and try to follow, and must admit that I am not the best at having that positive approach to life that Ms. Hay proposes. I see it as a work in progress and any time I get a little refresher course I consider my self to be blessed.
Julius Bagley, Rotary Club of Guinett, D-6910

More Reasons to be in Rotary
Submitted by Bruce Kleeberger

Citizenship in the World: Every Rotarian wears a pin that says "Rotary International." There are a few places on the globe that do not have a Rotary club. Every Rotarian is welcome even encouraged to attend any of the 29,000 clubs in 194 nations and geographical regions. This means instant friends in both one's own community and in the world community.
Assistance when Traveling: Because there are Rotary clubs everywhere, many a Rotarian in need of a doctor, lawyer, hotel, dentist, advice, etc., while traveling has found assistance through Rotary.
Entertainment: Every Rotary club and district has parties and activities that provide diversion in one's business life. Rotary holds conferences, conventions, assemblies and institutes that provide entertainment in addition to Rotary information, education and service.
