Greeter this week: Elly and Ramiro Contreras

During our most recent "Island Hopping" vacation on the west coast, we had an opportunity to see a large number of Rotary Projects in Gibsons, Sechelt, Powell River, Campbell River; Rotary is everywhere. We had an opportunity to spent time with Rotarians in Ladysmith, Pender Island (from Vancouver Club) and Salt Spring Island. President Gill Cheeseman is doing a great job strengthening her club and selling tickets for the upcoming Muffin Madness Drop. And these are not real muffins being dropped, but Cow droppings. Proceeds for the ticket sales go to an education program on Salt Spring.

We strongly encourage all Rotarians to visit other clubs during their travels, take pictures of Rotary Projects to share, and meet other Rotarians.
We can form so many partnerships and it makes our Rotary world even smaller.

Comments from our Guests and Members
Members and guest attending our weekly meetings are very important to us. Based on your comments we are able to produce many more educational, inspiring and entertaining weekly meetings.
Following are some of the comments we have received. Would you send us your comments please?

Angela's talk was timely in my life as I am in the process of eliminating the clutter and doing some fall cleaning.  Good justification for downsizing the stuff in my life came from this talk.
Shirley Smith, RC of Edmonton Northeast, D-5370

Downsizing to improve your life is an interesting proposition.  This idea may require some time to sell at home!
David Werrett, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

"Mark Balla"
I liked the way you promoted education. The speech which President Obama gave on Responsibility was a challenge to the school children.
The speaker had a lot of information. He managed to capture the interest of the listeners as he highlighted the sanitary problems and the present needs.

Margaret Sibanda, RC of Edmonton Northeast, D-5370

This week was a WOW meeting.  So much content!
Doug Young, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

Your weekly e-meeting is, as always, very impressive. In an e-meeting you cover a lot of subjects in addition to the featured talk. They give us a detailed idea about your club, programs and other activities as if you are attending an in-person meeting. Enjoyed attending the meeting.
K. Prasad Menon, RC of Simsbury-Granby,CT, D-7890

Rotary is more than a club, it is a worldwide network of Rotarians sharing ideas and working together for the benefit of those less fortunate.
Our E-Club is part of a District, which covers Northern Alberta, Eastern British Columbia and a small part of Western Saskatchewan. Our District is governed by a District Governor, who uses our model for an example to others, advices us on Rotary policies and participates in our Fellowship.
One of the duties of a DG is to meet with the board of each club and addresses our club members, informing us about Rotary news and our annual Theme.
We are excited to announce, that DG Laura Morie will be meeting with our board on Tuesday, October, 18, prior to our Fellowship Assembly, during which she will make her presentation.
During this Fellowship Assembly we may also hear from Biswanath Chakrabarty who will be on site in India giving us an update on our Education project there.

Tuesday, October 18, 6:00 pm Mountain Time.
