Greeter this week: Vicki Horsfield

Rotary Recycled!
When I finally had the opportunity to meet my mentor, Doug Dyer, face to face, he honoured me with the gift of a used and well-loved Rotary bag. It became my computer bag and as a result, took quite a beating. Over time, it started to deteriorate. Because I had come to love it too, I wasn't willing to give it up. In our NGO, we have a vocational sewing program and many of the participants are becoming quite good at sewing. So when I showed my Rotary bag to one of them and said that I wanted to salvage it, she said, "I know just what to do!" Here is the beautiful result! Leather on the bottom for endurance; Mayan hand-woven fabric to show off where I live. And it has now been upgraded to my everyday bag. Now it will live on to tell many more tails and show off the Rotary emblem.

Humane Borders now there's a concept that the world should embrace.
Lou Spizzirri, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

Doug's greeter message was awesome.  I enjoyed the presentation on border crossing... learned so much.
Sharon Blaker, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

Two excellent and emotional presentations. The Princess in Exile and Aid at the Border. Your Club continues to amaze me with the quality of your programs!
Robert Boyden, RC of Canmore, Alberta, D-5360

What is most amazing to me is that those who provide aid at the border will likely never meet those who they saved from a certain death and will never get a smile or thank you from them. Regardless they persist and provide one of the best example of true humanity.
Jean-Michel Crepin, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370
