Brent Boynton
Reno Housing Authority

Brent Boynton became a familiar face to Northern Nevadans through his previous profession as a television journalist. In his 25 years in Reno, he’s anchored newscasts for Channels 2 and 8 and has covered public affairs for KNPB, Channel 5. He’s a member of the Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

Brent currently serves as community outreach coordinator for the Reno Housing Authority, which helps about 4,000 families afford to live in Reno, Sparks and Washoe County. He has also served as communications director for a congressman, candidate and governor and has taught journalism and writing at the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Brent also consults businesses and individuals on effective communication in all forms and serves as a moderator and emcee of community events.

Today he’s telling us about one of the biggest problems our community is facing—the lack of affordable housing—and how the Reno Housing Authority and other organizations are trying to improve the housing situation…for all of us.
