Jim Ishoy has extensive experience turning around underperforming organizations in the high-tech, aerospace, and computer systems industries. He has the unique blending of design, manufacturing operations, quality, sales, and general management experience. Using this unique blend of experience Jim has been able to break down traditional organizational barriers within large and small organizations improving communications, performance, and margins.

Currently, Jim is the founder and Managing Consultant of Opsconn Consulting LLC an executive management consultancy. Previously he has held roles in engineering, manufacturing operations, quality, account management, mergers and acquisitions, project management and general company management. Jim co-founded a Software Development company, Intalect and served as its COO and CEO. He was responsible for quality operations for an international contract manufacture, Celestica, overseeing a number of acquisition integrations into the corporate quality system. Jim’s earlier career trajectory included Director of Software Development at Amdahl, Product Director at Maxtor, Director of Quality, Manager of Hard Disc Drive Manufacturing and Manager of Failure Analysis at Memorex. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam period and in the US Army in the late 70’s rising to the rank of Captain.

Jim has taken his 40+ years of experience, refined it with John Maxwell’s Leadership training to improve the lives and businesses of others. He is trained and certified to teach, coach and speak on a number of John’s Leadership principles many of which Jim has applied in his professional career. He is also certified to train on the Maxwell DISC Method of personality profiles.

Jim is a certified World Class Speaking Coach. He has spoken to both large and small groups in private and public settings. He is also a Distinguished Toastmaster in Toastmasters International having won a number of speaking contests.

His academic credentials include a BS in Manufacturing Engineering and Technology from Brigham Young University (BYU). Jim attended Arizona State University (ASU) working on his MBA being accepted into the Beta Gamma Sigma (BΓΣ) Honor Society while at ASU.

Jim has been married to his wife Kathy for over 45 years. They have 4 children and 3 grandchildren. He has been active in his church serving in a number of leadership roles as well as an Assistant Scoutmaster with the BSA.
