Bill Hauck - Water Supply Administrator

Bill is charged with making the most efficient use of the community’s water resources. He forecasts customer demand,
projects available water supplies, and develops and implements cost-effective source of supply operating strategies.
His work is part of TMWA’s overall integrated water resources management plan to meet the demands of its water customers. 
He is responsible for coordinating the groundwater pumping efforts of TMWA’s 92 production wells. He also directs the storage
and releases from upstream dams and reservoirs in accordance with the Truckee River Operating Agreement in order to create
effective flow regimes which keep TMWA’s surface water treatment plants and hydroelectric plants online.
 
Bill will give an overview of the region’s water supplies, a topic of interest to all residents given the dry winter and spring we are experiencing.
 
Bill Hauck, hydrologist, has a master’s degree in water resources from the University of New Mexico. He has more than 20 years of experience
coordinating the water supply for Washoe County and the Cities of Reno and Sparks. He is currently the Water Supply Administrator for
Truckee Meadows Water Authority.
