Phil Nevin, Reno Aces Manager 

Phil Nevin is the current manager of Reno's popular AAA baseball team, the Reno Aces. He's only the second manager in franchise history and will speak about his experiences and plans for the team as well as his celebrated career as a major league baseball player.

Nevin's baseball career started in 1992. He was selected as the number one overall pick by the Houston Astros in the amateur draft out of California State-Fullerton, where he was awarded the Golden Spikes Award and was named the College Player of the Year by Collegiate Baseball and Baseball America. Nevin went on to spend 12 seasons in Major League Baseball with Houston, Detroit, Anaheim, San Diego, Texas, Chicago (NL) and Minnesota. While with the Padres in 2001, Nevin earned a National League All-Star bid, and finished the season ranked seventh among NL batters in home runs (41) and RBI (126).

2014 marks Nevin’s first season in Diamondbacks organization, and sixth overall season as a manager in professional baseball.
