A Time to Bid Farewell
A Celebration of Life for a longtime Rotarian, David Adrian, is scheduled for Saturday, June 21 at 2 pm. The service will be held at David's home at 533 Homestead Drive, off Chandler Road, in Quincy.
As a member of Quincy Rotary for 47 years, David served as a past president. He was a Paul Harris Fellow. Also, David chaired the Rotary Youth Exchange Club and acted as a counselor to foreign exchange students, several who have remained friends. Over the years, he and his wife Nancy hosted seven exchange students in their home. They visited a number of these former students in their home countries and valued those experiences.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Quincy Rotary Club for its youth programs: Quincy Rotary Club, PO Box 1717, Quincy CA 95971.
Only You Can Prevent Wildfires!
Quincy Rotarians' Mike Flanigan and Richard Stockton presented at Monday's meeting on their involvement with Plumas County Fire Safe Council and Firewise movement. Like true Rotarians, Mike and Richard volunteered for the programs to help make the area safer from wildfires. The Fire Safe Council oversees Firewise which is a solution for small towns and residential associations who wish to prioritize the reduction of hazardous fuel. The council's mission is to support these efforts and promote fire resiliency among the residents of Plumas County.
