Area Foundation Dinner
Friday night's Area Foundation Dinner brought Quincy Rotary, Portola Rotary, Greenville Rotary and Loyalton Rotary to the Quincy Volunteer Fire Hall for a feast. Guests ate delicious BBQ Prime Rib, asparagus soaked in butter & bacon, potatoes and rolls and apple crisp from Bell Lane Bakery. Club Presidents chatted with other club presidents and future club presidents. District Governor Stacy Graham filled us with inspirational tales of Rotary as did guest speaker Rick Sweeney.
DG Stacy gave out awards. A significant honor - the Paul Harris Polio Plus awarded to clubs with an annual contribution of $1500 - went to Quincy Rotary for the 2022-2023 year when Darren was president. Lisa accepted the award on the club's behalf. Six Quincy Rotarians were also honored for their generous contributions to the Paul HarrisSociety. As seen in the photos below, QR was well represented. Andy Ryback was not at the dinner to accept his award as a Major Donor to the Paul Harris Society. QR congratulates all the Paul Harris Fellows.
David Little - a recent member of the Paul Harris Society - was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow +2.
Paul Harris Society member Dwight Pierson was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow +5.
Paul Harris Society member Mike Summerfield was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow +4.
Richard Stockton was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow +1.
Lisa Kelly was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow 1 and accepted the Paul Harris Polio Plus on behalf of Quincy Rotary.
Last Monday's Program
Monica Potter from the Feather River College Foundation spoke Monday about the Community Host Program. With her were 3 English FRC soccer players - Callum Harvey, Nathan Scargill and Logan Reed - who participate in the program and love the benefits like home-cooked meals.
What is a Community Host? You volunteer your time to support one or two college kids who need a familiar face in their new enviroment. Essentially, you help students transition to a small college and rural community, and be their connection to the community. For more info, contact Monica at mpotter@frc.edu.
Member ClubRunner Login Activity
ClubRunneris the electronic hub of Quincy Rotary. It's where members find quarterly billing invoices which can be paid online. It's where you update your membership profile and photo. It's where you can find webinars, and the updated calendar. However, over the last month, only 21 members have logged into ClubRunner - 42.9% of Quincy Rotary. That's less than half of the club.
If you need a beginner course, or a refresher course, on ClubRunner let Lisa know and she can facilitate that. Being involved in Rotary means keeping informed which is the intent of ClubRunner.
